Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta is being slammed for his role in a sweetheart plea deal for Jeffrey Epstein.
Epstein is a billionaire, recently indicted for sex trafficking minors.
On Tuesday, Acosta tried defending his decision to give Epstein a light jail sentence. He claimed Epstein would have walked free if Acosta hadn’t intervened as a federal prosecutor.
Barry Krischer, who was the state attorney for Palm Beach County from 1993 until 2009, says Acosta is trying to “rewrite history.”
Epstein was accused of molesting dozens of young girls. However, he ended up serving just 13 months on a state charge of soliciting prostitution.
