A leader of a sex-slave ring was found guilty Wednesday of seven charges against him. Nxivm leader Keith Raniere was was convicted of sex trafficking and forced labor conspiracy.
Prosecutors say Raniere, known by his followers as “Vanguard,” kept a ring of 15 to 20 women sex slaves branded with his initials.
Former members say that leaders within the movement were called “masters” and recruited other women to be their “slaves.”
The ongoing case involves high-profile people such as Seagram’s liquor heiresses Clare and Sara Bronfman, and ‘Smallville” actress Allison Mack.
In April, Mack pleaded guilty to two charges of racketeering for her involvement in Nxivm.
